packet loss and jitter

HI there , thank you Heike for a great product.

i prefer your software to everything out there if i can just get this call quality working nicely.

I have sagem cable-tv router which connects to a my archer router (which i am running without dhc so it can be like a switch)

i can either connect directly to the sagem router by lan-cable or by wifi.

i can also connect to the archer (now-switch) via wifi

My service provider did some kind of trace and he is of the opinion that it is from between my router and pc and the problem is the packet loss

whatever i do , i am often getting inbound calls where they just cannot hear me nicely , I look at statistics and there is jitter and packet loss.

I have disabled sip-alg on the archer and disabled NAT.

I do not know how to run a wireshark (i have seen you post that here)

I am hoping you can offer a suggestion that will resolve this .

many thanks

The only thing you can do is to disable "QoS" on network settings in PhonerLite. Maybe there are some issues with your router. Keep in mind that changes in configuration get active after saving.

To see if your PC doesn't send and receive all packets (packet loss) you need a Wireshark trace. I can't give you support for Wireshark. I hope you understand this. I just develop PhonerLite as a pure hobby project.
Did you try another softphone? Do you have the same problems with that?

No, just keep the defaults. If disabling "QoS" doesn't help and other softphones have the same problems, there might be a problem in your infrastructure (poor wifi?).
