How to get a VPN address assigned to PhonerLite?

Hello -

A couple of questions.

(1) I need to make direct IP-to-IP calls (got that sorted out OK) over
OpenVPN in a setup like this:

ISP <-NAT1-> Single-ethernet-port modem/"router" (10.a.b.1)
      <-NAT2-> Ordinary multi-ethernet-port LAN router (10.y.z.*)
      <--> Specific PC (10.y.z.4) using the VPN (as 10.m.n.9)

Cheesy

Whether the PC is connected to the VPN or not, PhonerLite 1.96
always uses the 10.y.z.4 address.  Is it possible to make it use
the VPN network (i.e. use the VPN-assigned address of 10.m.n.9)
instead?

(2) Separately (for other calls, not on the VPN) I will sometimes wish
to set up local conferencing but I can't see any instructions in the
Help file for that.  Do I just hit on the people icon instead of the hand
icon when I want to answer a (2nd, 3rd, ...) caller in conference mode?

Thanks

PhonerLite detects the local source address dynamically depending of the destination address. So if there is no route set for that VPN, PhonerLite can't detect the right local address.
If you call "ipconfig" at the command prompt you see a local VPN address different from the normal ethernet address?

There is a conference button in the toolbar. If that button is pressed, all (!) calls will be in the conference automatically. So if you initiate two calls, all people should hear each other.

Yes.  I see Ethernet adapters, one "Local Area Connection" and
one "Local Area Connection 2".  The "Description" of the first is
the RealTek adapter in the computer and that of the second is
"TAP-Win32 Adapter V9".  It is over the second that the VPN
goes (it was installed but the VPN installer).  I also see that "IP
Routing" is not enabled.  I will explore that further (I assume it is
connected with your question).  Thank you for your response -
the VPN admin just barks at anyone who does not speak good
Technical, even though it is his associates who want all our
connections with them via their VPN, not us, and we no longer
have a full time admin since downsizing for general economic
reasons a while ago but his part-time replacement has not been
here since the problem arose.  So I was a bit lost.

That button is what I meant by "people icon".  Thank you.
