PhonerLite Audio Issue After Selecting a USB Heads

Hi everyone,

I recently installed PhonerLite on a new laptop and wanted to share an experience that might be helpful to other users. I really enjoy using this application and appreciate the work behind it.

During the initial setup, I selected my Plantronics USB headset as the audio device. After that, PhonerLite started taking over 30 seconds to launch, sometimes became completely unresponsive, and occasionally produced no dial tone when making calls.

Since I could no longer access the audio settings properly, I uninstalled the application and removed its associated folders, including the installation directory and the roaming profile data. After restarting the computer, I reinstalled PhonerLite and kept the default audio device settings instead of selecting the headset manually.

This time, everything worked as expected.

I cannot say for certain what caused the problem, but the issue seemed to occur after selecting the USB headset during the initial configuration. I hope sharing this experience might help if other users encounter similar behavior.

If any further information is needed, I’ll be happy to provide it. Thanks again for your continued work on PhonerLite!

I can't reproduce that problem for my own. You can select the audio device at every time by right clicking the microphone and speaker buttons. If you do that and select the headset, you have that problem again?

Also make sure to use the 64 Bit Version if you are on a 64 Bit OS. PhonerLite 32 Bit is known to have issues when run on a 64 Bit OS.

Do you use other voice communications software (Teams, Zoom etc.) in parallel? If so, select your headset as "standard communications device" in Windows Settings and select "default" in PhonerLite's audio settings for Microphone and Speaker. You'll loose the ability to pick up calls with your headset button but co-existence is improved.
