callto url as non-administrative user

i can get the callto url dialing to work as administrator.  howerver, if i login as a non-administrative user, callto url dialing does not work.  when the link is clicked, phoner seems to get the focus but the number is not put in the destination number field and the call is not initiated.

how do you setup phoner to allow the non-admin user to be able to do callto url dialing?

I checked this with the latest version of PhonerLite.
I used a restricted user account that never had a callto handler before. I opened the URL "callto://0310" in Internet Explorer - nothing happened. Then I enabled the callto handler from the menu in PhonerLite. After that the call with the right number gets established by PhonerLite.

I am setting up a callto url in excel.  i click on it from there as admin and it works.  but not my non-admin user.  is there any way to debug what phoner is getting?

i am using windows XP-sp3 and office XP

is there any kind of registry setting that needs to get made to make this work?  maybe a registry entry that non-admin users cannot make in a protected hive?

Once again: Are you using the latest version of PhonerLite? Only PhonerLite can handle callto URLs. Phoner only accepts phoner URLs like "phoner://0310".

yes, i am using 1.78 that i downloaded a few weeks ago.  it is phonerLite.   

i have also tried the following from the command line - C:\Program Files\PhonerLite\PhonerLite.exe 123456789

and this changes focus to phonerLite but it will not fill in the number in the destination field and do the connect.

If you want to dial from cammnd line you have to call:

Select All
PhonerLite.exe callto:123456789

well i really do not want to dial from the command line.  i was only showing you that the command line did the same thing as the callto url dialing.

i just ran 
"C:\Program Files\PhonerLite\PhonerLite.exe" callto:5133329000

and this produced the same result - the phonerlite program did get focus but the number was not entered in the Destination number field and the call was not connected.

is there any other test i can do that will help debug this problem?

OK, I identified the problem and fixed it in the latest beta version. Please download the beta version from http://www.phonerlite.de - then it should work.
