What Ports do PhonerLite use?

Heya all.
I really like PhonerLite, but I wonder what ports it actually uses.
When I start PhonerLite, I get ports in range of 50 000 and
up. (server loopback?)
I thought I only had to open (My Port=9955) and +2 because
I wanna use PhonerLite to talk encrypted P2P with friends.
Reason I ask is because I get outgoing connection, but not incoming sound connection.
Same goes for My Byddy on the other end.., outgoing, but no incoming.
So what port should I open to get the incoming?

You can configure the base port in PhonerLite. That is 5060 by default.
This port is used for UDP and/or TCP signaling. The voice (RTP) is transmitted by the port with offset 2 - by default it is 5062.
If a special port couldn't be opened, because another application uses this port, a random port (provided by the system) is opened.
Here is an example: You have configured the port 5070 in PhonerLite:
UDP 5070: UDP SIP signaling
TCP 5070: TCP SIP signaling listening (if TCP is configured as transport)
TCP 5071: TLS SIP signaling listening (if TLS is configured as transport)
UDP 5072: RTP signaling (voice data)
UDP 5073: RTCP signaling

So all ports are depending of the used base port.
Normally your PC uses a private IP address and your Router uses NAT to translate it into a public IP address. NAT changes ports dynamically if you don't configure special rules in your router.

If you don't use any server at all, you just have to keep the field "Proxy/Registrar" empty. Registration can be disabled too.
In P2P mode you always have to qualify the full address like "bob@domain.com" or an IP address like "bob@84.85.86.87".
If your remote partner doesn't use the default port 5060, you have to append that like "bob@84.85.86:5070".

Thanks for repply Heiko.

The problem Me and my other tester got is that we connect and have no INcoming sound.
The status window shows outgoing sound A-Law, but incoming shows ---.
I have opened ports 5060-5080 in My router, but I dont get the incoming audio.

When I connect to My friend I just type his IP and port, fx
XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:5065, and we connect.
But theres no incoming sound, allthow Iw opened ports 5060-5080 in router.
Thats why I first asked what ports Phonerlite really uses.

Im really confused how to make PhonerLite work
in My case.

Is the clue here that I have to address My friend as:
[name]@IP:port?

I use Speak Freely normally, but Me and my friend was looking for an better alternative, so I descovered PL.

Yours

The problem is, that within the messages there is the public IP-address and port. But normally PhonerLite doesn't know the public IP and port (your router uses NAT).
Therefore you should configure a STUN server. This is only used to get the public IP-address and port. You can use any STUN server you want. Try "stun.ekiga.net" if you don't want to use a different one.
