Initiating calls from external phonebook

Thank you for a great piece of software, PhonerLite is the best softphone out there in my opinion. The only thing I would change is the phonebook, many people have more than one number; for home, work, mobile etc. and there's no way to do that in the existing phonebook.

In Phoner I can use DigitalPhonebook 2003 and the links launch a call in Phoner, but it doesn't work with PhonerLite, any ideas why that is and if it can be made to work? (I have phonerlite set to use all the protocol handlers under options)

Thanks,
Trev.

What protocol handler does your external phonebook application use?
If you enter "callto:0123456789" in your Firefox or Edge browser - does PhonerLite get this call?

Yes, "callto:0123456789" "tel:0123456789" and "sip:0123456789" all initiate calls in PhonerLite from the Firefox browser.

The phonebook software is no longer supported by the maker so I cannot find out from them what protocol it's using, but it works to make calls from Phoner... so I thought I should be able to figure it out.

You can start Phoner and delete the content of the debug window. Then dial from that phonebook application.
In the debug window of Phoner a line like:
Code
Select All
12:13:31,880: Command line parameters: connect 0123456789

should appear.
You will see then, what command line parameters are used.

Sorry, I think the code in my earlier post was from PhonerLite, my mistake. This is what I get in Phoner:

Code
Select All
15:19:40,577: LINE_REQUEST
15:19:40,582: active call index=0
15:19:40,586: Status: connecting
15:19:40,589: Connect Request: Vortex to 0123456789
15:19:40,604: Connect Confirm
15:19:49,812: Disconnect Indication: 19:No answer from user (user alerted)
15:19:49,815: Status: disconnecting
15:19:49,824: Status: disconnected
15:19:49,827: Status: 480:Temporarily unavailable
15:19:49,831: active call index=0
15:19:49,834: Disconnect Response

It seems your phonebook application used some TAPI functionality like tapiRequestMakeCall(). Yes, this is supported by Phoner but NOT by PhonerLite. Sorry.
